Indian Rocks apartment fire called suspicious
09/29/2008
Pinellas County, FL - The Sheriff's Office Arson Unit is investigating an apartment fire in Indian Rocks Beach. Deputies responded to the fire around 10:30 a.m. Sunday morning.

According to detectives that responded to the fire on Bay Blvd., the resident was asleep with his dog at the time of the fire. He was able to get his dog into the breezeway, grab a fire extinguisher and, along with his neighbors, try to put the fire out.

They were able to put out most of the fire by the time Rescue arrived. Firefighters put out the remaining flames.

There is a lot of smoke damage in the apartment and some water damage to the adjacent apartments.

Arson Unit detectives have deemed the fire to be suspicious in nature. The investigation is ongoing.
